Using Social Media Recruiting at Careers Fairs and for Graduates
Using an Instagram and Twitter live feed for a nation-wide event is a great idea. This was great at the APCA’s (The Association of Campus Activities) recent conference, held in Houston. When people come together to share an experiential event through the medium of images and video on Instagram and Twitter, with a specific #hashtag, this allows these images to gain a very precise target market back in the specific cities of the guests, particularly within one segment of an industry.
A live social media feed using Instagram and Twitter photos and videos is of course a perfect addition to any campus marketing campaign. Students are avid users of social media. Encouraging students to interact with your brand online through a photo opportunity or competition is a great way to connect with your target audience online. This is also very beneficial for connecting your brand with talent pools on campus during a recruitment drive.
This form of peer-to-peer social marketing can also be used very well in the recruitment sector in the form of social recruitment. Large screens with user generated social media on them can be used to run Instagram competitions or just as a way of encouraging talent pools to engage with brands. This is particularly useful for campus recruitment and at recruitment fairs.
