Gloucester Rugby Fans Show Their Support For Eventstagram

The Event

Gloucester Rugby Club is one of the oldest and most successful Rugby Union teams in the United Kingdom. At their stadium, Kingsholm, the average weekly attendance is over 13,500 . They are cemented  in the top division of Rugby in the UK, regularly contesting for the title .
With their social media presence going from strength to strength it came as no surprise to us that they wanted to display their crowds live Instagram photos before, during and after each of their home games.

The objectives for implementing our live Instagram slideshow were to:
1.Create an entertaining and interactive display
2.Further extend the outreach of the #gloucesterrugby hashtag across social media.
After only two home games, Eventstagram has already proved to be an unrivalled tool in the clubs efforts to achieve both these targets, and has received extensive praise from fans and staff alike.

The Slideshow

The live Instagram slideshow, powered by Eventstagram, was our standard Eventstagram template displayed on Gloucester huge screens on either end of the stadium.

Eventstagram Is Keeping Fit

Eventstagrammers,

As most of you are well into the tough stage of your annual exercise push, we wanted to let you know about our exercise programme.

We struggle to run, we can't really cycle and, well, we have been warned that swimming is not good for our server. So we have spent January working on our flexibility.

Here are some of the things we have been doing to ensure we remain as flexible as Olga Korbut, not just in January, but all year round.

Bulk Packages

We have begun to work with a number of Event Organisers, Bars, Nightclubs or other venues that require a regular live Instagram feed, to develop custom built packages to suit their requirements. We have a live 2 for 1 deal on our Silver package specifically for regular users, but if you need it more or less often get in contact and we can put together a bundle that lets you use the feed exactly when you need it!

Custom Designed Templates

We have been working with organisations and individuals of all sizes to develop custom designed Eventstagram slideshows. These range from minor adaptations to full white label designs. We work directly with each customer and can produce solutions to match most budgets. If you’re interested get in finding out more, get in contact on info@eventstagr.am or on our site.

Extra Features

Think there is something we are missing? Want to amalgamate some of our packages together? No worries, get in contact and one of the team will try and help you with information on what we have on offer, what's to come and what we can do for you now to satisfy your requirements.

We hope to hear from you soon, but in the meantime we hope you have fun creating some great live Eventstagram slideshows,

Happy Instagramming,

The Eventstagram Team

Eventstagram - The Event Trend of 2013

As we enter the second week of January almost every Event guru out there has posted their annual New Years blog.

This year we have seen a flurry of ‘Top Tens to Watch’, ‘Ten Things That Will Make Your 2013 Better’ and ‘Event Trends For 2013’ that have focussed on the need for event professionals to become aware and make use of new event technology.

We have highlighted some of the most important, and given some tips on how you can use Eventstagram’s live Instagram shows to ensure your event doesn't miss out on this years biggest trend:

‘10 Event Trends for 2013’ by Julius Solaris

2. Curation and Display

“Event professionals are now in charge to display a curated feed of the user generated media developed during the event. It is not acceptable to present fragmented streams of pictures, tweets, videos and blog posts. “

'5 Event Industry Trends for 2013' by Live Recruitment

#2 Social media will be essential for events

“Social media offers the opportunity to engage with larger audiences.......having a proper strategy for using social media before, during and after your event will be increasingly important”

#3 Growth in mobile usage at events

“We know that where people go, their mobile devices follow.....So, one event industry trend is likely to be the increasing growth of mobile at event.”

2013 Predictions for Corporate Event Planning by David Thomas

Social media will play a growing role

"....social media will continue to exert a growing influence over our events......this trend is a Godsend, offering an inexpensive way to encourage interaction between attendees both before, during and after meetings (and broaden the content offered in the meetings themselves)”

‘What the great events will be doing in 2013’ by Julius Solaris

5. Conferences where attendees have the opportunity to be “participants”.

“If you are planning to attend an event and you haven’t had the opportunity to influence the programme or even better, the opportunity to directly contribute, then do consider avoiding the event.”

6. Social Media playing a much more active role in the event.

“Events and social media is a marriage made in heaven. Organisers should encourage engagement from all the stakeholders as social media can add value to everyone.”

Five Trends To Watch by Jeff Hurt

1. The Participation Economy

“Conference attendees don’t want to spend $1,500 – $2,000 to attend your event and then sit passively for four to six hours a day. They want to engage with others about the content that is being shared or about the needs they face.....they (conferences) should move to becoming a social channel engaging the audience in discussion about that application of that content.”

2. Social Sharing

“Regardless of what you think, it is not a fad. It is a sociological phenomenon that continues to occur at a rapid pace. This macro trend is affecting conferences and events. Conference attendees will continue to share what they are doing at your event and who they are doing it with. Some will share content. Some will challenge what they hear from the stage. If your event is bland, little social sharing will occur and this actually reflects a poor conference experience.”

4. The Smobile Web

“Social + Mobile = Smobile. Social and mobile are becoming more dependent upon each other. A smobile web means that your attendees expect the conference experience to be digitized for mobile and sharing. Instagram and NFC (near field communication technology) are two examples of experiences prepared for the smobile web.”

Eventstagram is the perfect solution to ensure your event matches these trends in 2013.

Firstly, using Eventstagram will encourage attendees at your event to share Instagram images under your hashtag to their friends and followers. Our web software displays a live feed of all the Instagram images tagged under your hashtag meaning that guests are encouraged to share photos of the event with the opportunity to get their face onto the live screen.

If more encouragement is required event organisers can stage photo competitions with Eventstagram. This further adds to the reward for users to send in images, and of course encourages more content to be shared across social media.

Secondly using Eventstagram can provide events with an interactive, live, and stunning looking display for backdrop to their event. The focus for 2013 has to be on live content and by using photos rather than words, Eventstagram users get the best of all worlds - a live display that is user generated and looks fantastic.

New Years Eve - Eventstagram Style

For most people the culmination of the year is a relatively brief few hours consisting of a concoction of alcohol, a cocktail of gunpowder explosives and some haphazard ‘friends making’.  For the team at eventstagram the night was different. It was not so brief, a lot little less drinking and completely void of explosives.

We celebrated a number of midnight moments, stretching over 20 hours, through numerous countries and in an array of languages, watching them all happen in live Instagram feeds.
The first Instagram photos began to appear in Eventstagram HQ, London, at 10am GMT. These weren’t typically British early starters; they were in fact eventstagram parties from Beijing, China.

The celebrations at VFC watchnight included Gangnam Style impressionists, live music and what looked like some fantastic tasting food! Under the hashtag #vfcwatchnite2012, 226 Instagram photos were tagged and streamed to the live screen at the front of the stage:

'Notion Technologies Take The Instagram Baton'

As the night progressed we saw the year turn in India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Russia before arriving in Europe for some of our biggest events of the evening.

Notion Technologies, eventstagrams exclusive partner in Benelux, sponsored the Instagram wall at the two leading NYE events in Flanders.

The “Millennium Night” was undoubtedly the most complete party in Antwerp. As friends and family dined together, the fireworks display from the shore and the enthusiastic celebrations at the beautiful location of Hangar 29 were the perfect forefront to our Instagram slideshow. The large screen was centrally positioned and created many humorous Instagram photos in real time. Amongst the 1000 attendees, we saw over 250 images taken from the Instagram on smartphones, and shared with the world.

50 km from Antwerp, the uNyghted NYE party had moved into "eskimofabriek" in Ghent. There were more than 1,500 young dance enthusiasts celebrating the evening. As guests arrived at the entrance hall, the pictures that were taken from the two rooms, and shared on Instagram, were shown on the live screen.

As the curtain closed on 2012 in mainland Europe it was time for London to pop open the champagne and Instagram their live photos to the rest of the guests, their friends and followers, and us in eventstagram HQ.

One of our favourite UK celebrations was a small house party in the North of England. Friends and family gathered together with drinks, pizza and most importantly lots of smiles. With eventstagram hosting the live Instagram slideshow on the TV, it provided a perfect backdrop to their small but raucous evening and some great entertainment for us!

 @patrickbernstein

The midnight moment continued travelling West, and as night became early morning in the UK, live Instagram walls began to appear across South and Central America. That brought us to one of our standout events from the whole festive period. For the graphic design company SEDSO design in Philadelphia, we began developing the customised template for the live feed weeks in advance of New Year’s Eve. We established a beautiful looking design that interchanged between two different instruction slides and of course user generated Instagram photos on the SEDSO background.

The slideshow was an amazing success and we saw over 300 photos tagged during the course of the celebrations.

@chris_mcelroy

As the sounds of champagne corks popping, turned into sounds of red bull cans fizzing, the final Instagram image was tagged in Samoa, 11 hours ahead of GMT.

For the eventstagram team we saw the whole spectrum of New Year’s Eve. From small house parties, to huge nightclubs and public events we were fascinated by watching fans of our product show their friends and followers how they celebrated the end of 2012.
